The veteran was not included in the men’s team for the 2024/25 season
The president Biathlon Federation of Ukraine Ivan Krulko said that Artem Prima is thinking about ending his sports career.
“Artem Prima is one of the athletes. But he approached me about the fact that his age already poses a personal question to him regarding whether to continue his sports career. He plans to stay in biathlon and will remain there. Artem is an incredibly hardworking and responsible athlete, I want to say only good words about his attitude to work.”
“Of course, we can’t force anyone to do anything, but we’ll see. Prima remains an athlete on the national biathlon team, but we will decide on his further performances in the coming weeks.”
Let us remind you that 36-year-old Prima was not included in the men’s team for the new season. Daria Blashko, who will focus on solving health problems, was not included in the women’s team. Also missing from the list is Elena Bilosyuk, who ended last season early due to knee surgery.
At the end of the 2023/24 season, the Ukrainian women’s team moved up one place and took ninth place in the Nations Cup. The blue-and-yellows will be able to field five athletes, just like last season.
At the end of the 2023/24 season, the Ukrainian men’s team took 11th place in the Nations Cup and lost one quota for the World Cup. In the 2024/25 season, the blue-yellows will be able to field a maximum of four athletes.
