SBR and RUSADA signed an agreement in the field of anti-doping in Russian biathlon

The Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) and the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) on Tuesday concluded an agreement on cooperation in the field of combating doping in sports, reports the official website of the RBU.

The document was signed by RBU President Viktor Maigurov and RUSADA Director General Veronika Loginova. The purpose of the agreement was the establishment of cooperation in several areas, the key of which is the fight for the purity of sport, as well as the organization and conduct of educational anti-doping events.

Maigurov stressed the importance of supporting anti-doping policy in Russian biathlon.

– Over the past two seasons, the RRF has taken a big step forward in the fight against doping. The anti-doping education plan is successfully implemented, according to which more than 830 athletes and personnel have received appropriate training in 2021, and approximately 500 additional people from January to May 2022. We have developed and approved a whole strategy educational anti-doping for 2022-2026.

On anti-doping issues, we are also in close contact with the IBU and the BIU, since this work is one of the key and permanent criteria, the fulfillment of which will allow the RBU to become a full member of the International Union. of biathlon. again, ”said the head of the RBU.
