Biathlete Daniel Usov told that he would work on his mistakes and not collapse psychologically after an unsuccessful relay performance at the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup in Murmansk.
On Saturday, Usov took third place in the mixed relay in a team consisting of Eduard Latypov, Natalya Gerbulova and Anastasia Egorova. Usov, who participated in the fourth stage, made three penalty loops in two shots, which is why his team lost the lead. On Friday, Usov became the winner of the men’s sprint.
— They say that it is more difficult to survive victories than defeats. It’s true?
– Yes, I agree with that. I thought I could handle the pressure until the first shooting range today. Then something went wrong. There was some internal nervousness during filming.
— What was your reaction when you learned that you were going to run the fourth leg of the relay?
“I was a little surprised, but then I resigned myself and told myself that I was going to fight.”
— Don’t you think it would be more appropriate to put you in the third stage?
– I don’t know. The race has already passed and nothing can be changed.
– Did the guys support you?
— Yes, thank you very much for their support. Thank you for giving me a handicap, without that, I don’t know what it would have been like at the end (laughs).
“You promise you won’t break after this?”
– Of course, I promise. I will draw conclusions, work on the mistakes and move on,” Usov told .
