Italian biathlete Dorothée Wierer announced that she will continue her career to compete in the 2026 Olympic Games on home soil.
The 2026 Winter Olympics will be held in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
“It would be a shame to end part of my life like this, without being able to give 100%, and I want to continue until the Olympic Games in Italy.”
It was not an easy choice because many sacrifices had to be made, but I had already planned my training and started with my group and trusted people,” Wierer was quoted as saying by the Union press service. International Biathlon (IBU).
Wierer, 34, is a three-time Olympic bronze medalist and four-time world champion.
