Athletistic / Bobsleigh. The congress of the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) did not address the issue of the Russian team’s return to international tournaments. The President of the Russian Bobsleigh Federation, Anatoly Pegov, spoke about this.

“This fact is due to the fact that the circumstances under which Russian athletes were previously suspended from international competitions have not changed at the moment. However, I can note that the congress took place in a good and positive atmosphere, without scandals nor scandals. “Unlike previous years, fruitful and constructive work was carried out for two days, the congress took place in the spirit of Olympism,” Pegov was quoted as saying by the TASS agency.

All Russian bobsledders and skeleton racers were suspended from participating in international competitions in March 2022. These sanctions are not sports-related, but relate to the conduct of a special military operation (SVO) by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine.

Note that the last international competition for Russian bobsledders and skeleton athletes was the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing (China).
