The ISU has included Russians in the lists of judges and starters in short track speed skating and speed skating for next season

The International Skating Union (ISU) has included Russian representatives in the lists of judges and starters for short track and speed skating competitions for the 2024/25 season, according to the organization’s official website.

In particular, the list of international speed skating judges from Russia included Alexander Kibalko.

At the same time, the ISU recalled that officials belonging to the Russian Skating Union and the Belarusian Skating Union cannot be invited, appointed and authorized to participate in international competitions and other events organized under the auspices of the ISU by decision of the organization.

Earlier, ISU Honorary Vice-President Alexander Lakernik said that the issue of admitting Russians to international tournaments in the 2024/25 season had not been discussed at the ISU. Russian athletes have been suspended from ISU tournaments since 2022 due to the situation in Ukraine.

In March 2023, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that sports federations allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in international competitions as neutral athletes and subject to a number of additional conditions.
