“Drachev worked at the SBR on a voluntary basis. Maigurov does not have a second job, he must receive some kind of salary” – Guberniev

Presenter and commentator at Dmitry Guberniev commented on the claims against the head of the RBU Viktor Maygurov who has been criticized for his high salary.

According to Metaratings.ru, President of the St. Petersburg Biathlon Federation Dmitri Vassiliev filed a complaint with the regional federations against the RBU and offered to join it. In the lawsuit, Vasiliev claims that Maigurov’s predecessors did not receive a salary and that Maigurov receives 350,000 rubles a month, and he is also paid for the rent of an apartment in Moscow in the amount of about 70,000 rubles and a minibus, which is used in the interests of the entire office of the federation. The lawsuit also mentions a similar salary for the executive director of the SBR, Alexander Pak.

— How would you assess the information about Vasiliev’s complaint against the Russian Biathlon Union?

— As far as I know, when Drachev worked at the SBR, the board members agreed that they would work on a voluntary basis, including the president of the organization. Then Maygurov appeared and demanded a salary. But where will Viktor Maygurov eat? He should probably receive some kind of salary, he does not have a second job.

Retraining as a property manager is one story. Going to become a coach is another story. Running a large state enterprise is also a way out. To become an expert on , there is strong competition, Zanin, Trifanov, the same Vasiliev. You can’t overcome such a fence.

“I don’t know, Vasiliev knows better. The RBU president should probably get money. Let them handle everything else internally. Viktor Maygurov has a family, he has to feed it. A person has to earn money, all other issues are in the statutory documents of the organization,” Guberniev told .
