The Russian Skating Union has announced details of the “Crystal.August” event, which will take place in Krylatskoye on August 27.
Earlier, the head of the organization, Nikolai Gulyaev, told that after the end-of-season gala, it was decided to hold the “Crystal.August” event with the participation of representatives of winter sports.
Athletes from several sports will take part in the show competition at the Krylatskoye ice rink: representatives of the Russian Biathlon Union, the Bandy Federation, the Bobsleigh Federation, the Luge Federation and the initiator of the show, the Russian Skating Union. Teams will compete in five modified sports on the speed skating rink: they will take part in 100-meter races on skates, biathlon target shooting after 300 meters on skates, sled and skeleton races, and will also try to score a goal against a professional goalkeeper in the “Bandy” discipline.
The event will bring together the heads of sports federations: the President of the Russian Skating Union Nikolai Gulyaev, as well as the President of the Russian Biathlon Union Viktor Maigurov, the President of the Russian Snowboard Federation Denis Tikhomirov, the President of the Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Federation of Russia Dmitry Dubrovsky. The participation of Olympic track and field champion Yuri Borzakovsky, former Russian national team footballer Alexei Smertin and presenter Emma Gadzhieva is planned. Among the current athletes, the Olympic short track champion Semyon Elistratov will take part in the event.
