Biathlete Latypov admitted that he wanted to become an Olympic champion and then end his career

Eduard Latypov, a three-time Olympic biathlon bronze medalist, told that he wants to compete in the Olympics, win a gold medal at the Games and then retire.

Russian biathletes have been suspended from participating in competitions under the auspices of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) since 2022.

“It all depends on whether we are allowed to enter or not.” We have set ourselves a goal: to get to the Olympic Games, run well, achieve the goals of a sports career and (go) on vacation with peace of mind.

— Do you want to become an Olympic champion and end your career?

– Certainly.

— Do you think you will continue to participate in international competitions?

– I believe. It is better to believe than not to believe. When you believe, there is a goal and motivation. Even if it does not happen, I will understand that I was as prepared as possible. Secondly, in any case, I have become better, I have improved my skills, it will definitely not be a disadvantage for me. And if you pick your nose, who benefits from it? – Latypov said on the air of the program “Special Report” on the channel.

Latypov won bronze in the pursuit, recurve relay and mixed relay at the 2022 Beijing Games.
