Prikhodko and Merkushyna also finished in the top 10
On the first day 2024 Summer Biathlon World Championshipswhich took place in Otepää, Estonia, after the men’s final, the Women’s Junior Super Sprint.
Five Ukrainian women took part in the race. Victoria Khvostenkowho showed the best result in the qualification, failed to compete for medals – the final fifth place. Two positions lower finished Ksenia Prikhodko.
Alexandra Merkushinawho took the lead after the first shooting range, missed six times at the next three shooting points and ended up finishing in the top ten of the finals. Elena Gorodnaya — 15th result. Polina Putsko — 25th.
Let us recall that today in the super sprint among juniors the representatives of Ukraine also failed to grab the medals. Vitaliy Mandzyn and Bohdan Borkovskyi closed the top-7, Sergey Suprun entered the top-10, Mikhail Khmil became 14th.
Tomorrow, August 23, Otepää will host the qualifying and final races in the men’s and women’s super sprint. On Saturday, four sprint races will take place. The 2024 Summer World Championships will conclude on Sunday with the junior pursuit races and the elite mass starts.
