Bulgarian representative Valentina Dimitrova won the gold medal
Ukrainian biathletes Victoria Khvostenko And Elena Gorodnaya won silver and bronze 2024 Summer World Cup By biathlon among juniors in sprint.
Viktoria Khvostenko lost 0.6 seconds to Bulgarian Valentina Dimitrova, who eventually won the gold medal, at the finish line. Elena Gorodnaya, who came in third, lost 18.5 seconds to the champion.
A total of six Ukrainians started the race. Ksenia Prikhodko came in fifth, Alexandra Merkushyna came in eighth, Polina Putsko came in 16th, and Alina Khmel already in the first shooting with four misses ruined her chances for a high place, finishing only 46th.
Today at the 2024 Biathlon World Junior Championships, Vitaliy Mandzyn won gold in the junior sprint. Earlier in the competition, Dmytro Pidruchnyi won the men’s super sprint. Another Ukrainian, Artem Tyshchenko, won silver in the same race.
On Saturday, two more races will be held at the 2024 Summer Biathlon World Championships: the men’s and women’s sprint in the elite group.
