Second gold for Ukrainians at competitions
Ukrainian biathlete Vitaly Mandzyn won the junior sprint 2024 Summer Biathlon World Championships.
Vitaliy passed both shooting ranges without missing. The Ukrainian was 41 seconds ahead of Norwegian Havard Tosterud. Third place went to another Norwegian biathlete Sivert Gerhardsen.
Four more Ukrainians started the race. Bohdan Borkovskyi with three misses came in seventh, Sergey Suprun took 11th place, Mikhail Khmil – 20th. Yegor Makarenko, who made four misses, came in 39th.
For Ukraine, Mandzyn’s medal is the second gold medal in the competition. Earlier, Dmytro Pidruchnyi won the men’s super sprint. Another Ukrainian, Artem Tyshchenko, won silver in the same race.
On Saturday, three more races will be held at the 2024 Summer Biathlon World Championships. There will be sprints among junior women, as well as among men and women in the elite group.
