Dmitrenko Finishes 14th in Women’s Sprint at 2024 Summer Biathlon World Championships

Belkina and Krivonos took places within the top 30

On 2024 Summer Biathlon World Championships A women’s sprint took place, in which six Ukrainian athletes took part.

Of these, Kristina Dmitrenko performed best, finishing in 14th place. Nadezhda Belkina and Anna Krivonos managed to finish in the top 30. The rest — Anastasia Merkushina, Liliya Steblina and Yuliya Dzhima — finished more than two minutes behind the champion — Tereza Vobornnikova from the Czech Republic.

Earlier, in the men’s sprint, the Ukrainians also failed to compete for medals. Artem Tishchenko’s best result was ninth position.

Let us recall that today Ukrainian juniors and junior women triumphantly performed in sprint races at the World Championships in Otepää, Estonia, presenting themselves and the entire country with a magnificent gift for Independence Day. Vitaliy Mandzyn won gold, and Viktoria Khvostenko and Elena Gorodnaya became silver and bronze medalists, respectively.

The Summer World Championships will conclude tomorrow, August 25, with the junior pursuit races and the elite mass starts.
