— In these competitions, our goal was not to participate in a state of athletic fitness. And we did not do the work to run well. Therefore, the result may not be what you would like to see.
— So you didn’t specifically prepare for these departures?
— We never intend to fail in the fall competitions. Moreover, if in August we usually do a decent amount of anaerobic work, then this year we probably did less than necessary, because the athletes I managed to talk to now say that there is strength, but no speed.
– Nevertheless, Eremin is third today.
— Eremin shot fast enough for himself and ran at his level. If Latypov had shot with only one miss, it probably would have been normal too (smile).
— What can you say about Latypov, who made three mistakes in the sprint?
— He ran at about his level. Of course, it could be better, but I think that basically no one here has the goal of showing super results. As for shooting, three misses are a lot for him, with three he never won anything, at least two. But today, Smolsky would not let him win with two, I think that even with one it would be difficult.
I liked Sasha Kornev’s work today – in terms of shooting time, he is now on par. He has started to pick up speed a little now, but we slowed him down in terms of intensity in training, because somewhere he could not cope with the load, and in order for him to digest it, we had to reduce the intensity. As a result, he is now lagging behind in his movements even compared to other athletes. Eremin seems preferable in this regard, because he has an established technique, it is easier for him in this state to show a result closer to the competition one, Kaminsky told .
On Saturday, men’s and women’s pursuit races will take place in Krasnoyarsk.
