Belarusian biathlete Dinara Smolskaya said she admired her husband Anton Smolsky’s performance in the mass start of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup summer biathlon stage in Krasnoyarsk.
The biathlete finished first, covering the 15-kilometer distance in 36 minutes 30.8 seconds and without making a single mistake on four shooting ranges. Earlier on Sunday, Dinara Smolskaya won the women’s mass start.
— How would you rate your husband’s race?
– Great. I admire that even after my victory he did not relax and did not collect all the good thoughts. Perhaps, even though he was tired, he rushed into the race, but he still managed to cope with his rivals. As he told me, the track was wet and slippery, so he wanted to shoot cleanly and not drag the fight for victory into the final lap.
– Where does your advantage come from?
— I can say that I am the leader of international biathlon. I trained very well this summer, gained more muscle and speed. There were some minor problems during filming, but they were corrected. I am glad that everything went this way.
— How do you feel when you see your spouse climb to the top step of the podium?
