The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected the appeal of the Russian biathletes Evgenia Ustyugova And Svetlana Sleptsova on the court’s decision in their anti-doping rule violation cases, according to the International Biathlon Union (IBU) website.
Sleptsova was disqualified for using ostarine for 2 years starting from 11 February 2020 and all her results from the 2013/14 season were annulled. Sleptsova then filed an appeal with CAS.
The IBU announced in February 2020 that Ustyugov had been suspended for two years based on data received from a Moscow laboratory. Ustyugov was found guilty of using the banned substance oxandrolone. The athlete’s results from August 27, 2013, until the end of the 2013/2014 season were annulled. Thus, the result of the Russian team in the Sochi relay was annulled, and Ustyugov was deprived of the mass start gold and relay bronze, won at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver.
Sleptsova and Ustyugov have already completed their sports careers.
