Ivan Anisimov, husband and coach of an Olympic medalist Kristina Reztsova spoke to about the new professional cycling helmet that the biathlete wears during competitions in Krasnoyarsk.
The Alfa-Bank Russian Summer Biathlon Championships will be held from September 12 to 15 in Krasnoyarsk. Earlier, Reztsova performed in Krasnoyarsk at the stage of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup.
— What is special about Christina’s new helmet?
— It’s light, fast, convenient. I myself raced on roller skis and always used bicycle helmets, because cyclists pay maximum attention to these little things and you can borrow something from them, little things that contribute to the result. You don’t seem to feel them, but they help.
— Can this 100 gram difference in helmet weight really help?
– Of course, if you collect all the material, 100 grams here, 20 grams there, 100 grams there, in the end half a kilo, but you have to transport them, these grams.
— Was it difficult to get such a helmet?
— Yes, we now have inventory problems due to the current situation. Just as skis are hard to get, bike equipment is also problematic. We were lucky, this helmet was in stock in a Moscow store, they delivered it only recently and I literally snatched it (smiles).
– How much does it cost?
— About 22 thousand rubles. All top-end headphones cost from 20,000 to 35,000 – in this range, depending on the company and the sophistication of the headset.
There is no special equipment for summer biathlon. Our specialization is only rifles. Roller skis and poles are ski equipment. And all helmets are bicycle helmets. For most guys, they are simple. But I know that Daniil Serokhvostov also pays attention to his helmet, his is also cool.
For biathlon, it is important that there is little “meat” at the back of the helmet so that it does not interfere when carrying the rifle from one line to another. And this helmet is short, plus it is considered one of the lightest; this helmet was specially developed for mountain stages. It is also considered the most ventilated, that is, the head does not sweat in it.
If we go into details, the color of the helmet is also very important. Let’s say a white helmet at an outside temperature of 25 degrees heats up to 29 degrees. A red helmet, for example, up to 43, and a black helmet up to 49. These are arbitrary numbers, but the color is important and you really feel it, “Anisimov told .
