Earlier Saturday Pierre Pachchenko won the sprint at the Russian Championship. The biathlete clocked 23 minutes and 56.1 seconds, making a mistake at the shooting range. The second was Nikita Porchnev who lost 9.4 seconds to the winner (2 misses). Both athletes represent the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra.
