Biathlete Daniel Usov representing the Perm region, told how pre-season training with the Russian national team helped him grow professionally.
Usov competed for the Volga Federal District team in the fourth stage of the relay at the Alfa-Bank Russian Summer Championships in Krasnoyarsk and won gold with Evgeny Emerkhonov, Nikita Blinov and Ivan Kolotov. The biathletes covered the distance in 1 hour 15 minutes 7.1 seconds, using 15 additional rounds.
— How do you assess your performance in Krasnoyarsk overall?
“I managed to perform quite well and get into the top twenty.” I would like it to be better, of course. Somewhere the shooting let me down, I was not aware of it, and in the end the shot slowed down, because under the load fatigue accumulates. I hope it will be much better in winter.
— This is the first time you are doing pre-season training with the national team. Do you feel any growth?
— There is growth in shooting, I feel more stable. The only thing is that in those competitions there was a problem with the prone position, maybe I lacked confidence.
And I noticed for myself that I was starting to gain experience. Now, when I take part in races, I analyze them in detail and identify points that will definitely help me in the future. I didn’t notice it before, I just ran the race and everything was forgotten. And now, even during filming, during training, I began to see certain nuances.
— Did you learn that in the national team?
“I think the team suggests a lot, and I myself am accumulating experience, growing, becoming more aware,” Usov told .
