Russian biathletes will try to give the fight to the Belarusians Anton Smolski who looked very strong this summer, said the representative of Russia Daniel Serokhvostov .
Earlier in September, Smolsky won the sprint, pursuit and mass start at the summer biathlon stage of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup in Krasnoyarsk.
— We’ll try (laughs). Anton looked very strong this summer, but throughout the season it was difficult, if not impossible, to maintain the form he currently had. We have to beat them in some competitions, since we have a slightly different preparation. Judging by past years, Belarusians prepare for certain departures, then experience a decline, while we are rather on a healthy plateau. I think in winter, when there will be a lot of races, it will be easier for us. But of course they can skip the Russian Cup and prepare only for the Commonwealth Cup, and it will be more difficult, because we can’t do that, we have to run here and there. But I think we will compete, for sure, but we will see this winter whether we will win or not,” Serokhvostov told Soviet Sport.
