Alexey Nuzhdov: “In the 2024/25 season, only one stage of the International Club Biathlon League will take place”

General Director of the International Club Biathlon League (ICBL) Alexey Nuzhdov in an interview with , he said that due to the density of the SBR schedule, only one stage of the MLBB is planned for the new season.

The MLKB Cup will take place on November 16 and 17 in Khanty-Mansiysk. As part of the competition, it is planned to organize mass starts and a mixed relay. A stage also took place in the 2023/24 season.

— What are the plans of the International Club Biathlon League for the 2024/25 season?

— This year, unfortunately, given the unprecedented density of the RBU calendar, we can organize only one stage, which will take place on November 16-17 in Khanty-Mansiysk, like last year. The program will be slightly different from last year.

— Are there plans to increase the number of stages next season, or is it too early to talk about it?

“We are starting to think about the next season as we prepare for the current one. The plans remain the same: increase the number of starts, make them as interesting as possible and constantly make changes that will make these competitions more attractive to athletes, fans and television.

— How many MLKB stages would you ideally like to see in a season?

“We are not developing a new sport from scratch and must take into account the interests of all stakeholders developing it. First of all, this concerns the SBR, as well as athletes. It is important to take into account the number of starts, unfortunately, the resource of human capabilities is not unlimited, and everything must be connected in such a way that all participants feel comfortable, so as not to interfere , but on the contrary, so that there is synergy for the benefit and development of sport, ”Nuzhdov told .
