Pidruchny plans to compete in the Christmas race

In 2023, Dmitry, together with Jima, took 4th place in Gelsenkirchen

Captain of the Ukrainian men’s biathlon team Dmitry Pidruchny stated that he plans to take part in the traditional Christmas racewhich will take place in German Gelsenkirchen December 28.

Note that Dmitry, together with Julia Jima represented Ukraine in the Christmas race last year. Then the Ukrainian duo took fourth place in the mass start – Dmitry and Yulia were 16 seconds short of the podium.

The organizers have already officially announced six pairs of competition participants – from France, Germany, Austria, Norway, Sweden and the Czech Republic. Frenchmen Julia Simon and Fabien Claude have won the Gelsenkirchen race for the last two years and have a chance to win for a record third time.

Christmas race (aka – World Team Challenge) Ukrainian duets won twice in its 21-year history. In 2008, Andrei Derisemla and Oksana Khvostenko succeeded in this, and in 2014, Sergei Semenov and Valentina Semerenko.
