World speed skating record holder Pavel Kulizhnikov won two victories at the opening stage of the Russian Cup in Kolomna.
Kulizhnikov won the distances of 1000 m (1:09.25 minutes) and 1500 m (1:47.96). Among women at similar distances, Daria Kachanova became the best (1.15.28; 1.58.00).
Kachanova also won at a distance of 500 m (37.76); among men, the best in the 500 was Timur Karamov (35.30).
Anastasia Grigorieva won the 3,000m (4:09.35) and Sergei Trofimov won the men’s 5,000m (6:21.65).
The mass starts of the first stage of the Russian Cup were won by Daniil Aldoshkin and Elizaveta Agafoshina.
