Olympic medalist biathlete Karim Khalili believes Daniel Serokhvostova the undisputed favorite of the new competition season.
— The situation is very difficult to explain before the start of the season, because every time there is excitement before the start. No one is ready to say before the season starts exactly what the season will look like and what the state will be. So everything works, everything is fine. We will soon see who is ready and how.
– You were injured. How would you rate your condition after this?
“Everything is fine, I fulfill the entire load and, in general, I will not say that I limit myself in any way.”
— You train alone in a women’s team. Does the lack of sparring affect you in any way?
— When I need to train, I cross paths with someone. Let’s say that in Sochi I did some training with Egor Sorin’s group, Daniil Serokhvostov also came there, spent his intermountain there and trained with him. So I won’t say that it bothers me, on the contrary, I manage to do most of the training at my own intensity, without getting upset.
— Who would you call the favorite of the season, who will win, for example, the ranking of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBR)?
“Definitely, the main favorite of the season is Serokhvostov and only Serokhvostov,” Khalili was quoted as saying by the official SBR social media account.
The YANGPUR Cup of the International Club Biathlon League (ICBL) will take place in Khanty-Mansiysk. On November 16, a mass start will take place, and on November 17, a mixed relay will take place, in which 15 teams from Russia and Belarus will participate. The biathletes will not represent the regions, but the biathlon clubs. A total of 60 athletes will participate in the competition. Khalili won the MLCB mass start last season.
On Saturday, will broadcast live the men’s (from 9:30 a.m. Moscow time) and women’s (from 11:45 a.m.) mass starts of the YANGPUR MLKB Cup.
