“I did my legs as best I could” – biathlete Slivko about the fight with Shevchenko at the finish of the mass start of the MLCB Cup

Victoria Slivko on , she said that during the final lap of the mass start in the International Club Biathlon League (MLKB) YANGPUR Cup, she attempted to run uphill from Anastasia Shevchenko since her opponent’s skis worked better and she could have overtaken her on the descent.

The competitions take place in Khanty-Mansiysk. On Saturday, Slivko won the mass start, Shevchenko finished second, 1.4 seconds behind the winner.

“I already understood what state Nastya was in in the penultimate lap, because we worked together. Her skis worked better, following her to the finish line I realized that I had to run somewhere uphill, somewhere flat, because she would come out of the downhill anyway. I did my legs as best I could. There was a residue left after the summer championship, the relay race, so today I couldn’t fall flat on my face and lose this finish again.

– Do you already remember?

– Yes, I remember that. Andrey Viktorovich Padin (coach) sometimes remembers this. So today I remembered and worked as hard as I could. “I got to the finish line and my legs completely gave out,” Slivko said.

On Sunday, November 17, a mixed relay will take place as part of the MLKB Cup.

Live broadcast of the mixed relay can be watched from 11:30 (Moscow time) on the channel, as well as on the websites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
