Athletistic/Others. 2014 Olympic bronze medalist and 2011 snowboarding world champion Alena Zavarzina has admitted she has no plans to leave the UK.

— I have lived in London for five years. I developed relationships here, made new friends – my life is now here. And there is hardly anyone left in Moscow: many friends have left in recent years, ask them why.

I originally came here to study at a top design school and intended to return. But when the pandemic started, I didn’t really like the way they handled it in Russia. Then I had changes in my personal life, started a relationship, met new people – and settled here.

— What if they offered you an interesting job in Russia?

– No! I already live here and I love it. I love going to the theater and cinema – being in the center of cultural life and events. Here I feel stability and confidence that my rights can be protected if I make the effort. I don’t want to move anywhere, not just to Russia.

I’m tired of looking for a place to settle down. I want to stay here and not give up everything, despite the difficulties,” Zavarzina said, as quoted by Sports.
