Artem paired with Elena Gorodnoy took 9th place in single mixed doubles in Kontiolahti
Ukrainian biathlete Artem Tishchenko commented on his performance in the single mixed relay at the first stage Biathlon World Cup 2024/25 in Finnish Kontiolahti.
“I moved steadily along the track, losing on every lap. Now there is no such sharpness, I hope that with the starts this tone will come. Because now it’s like you’re running in one gear and you can’t add anything. I’m happy that the season has started and that there are chances to show myself. I’m happy with this, but I won’t say I’m happy with the shape. But I don’t lose my spirit, so I’m preparing for the next races and believe that I will show decent results.”
“I completely changed the approach to training, the training system, everything is different – a lot of details, a lot of nuances. We are trying to work on everything, I believe that the team will be able to show better results than before. After the last two years, everyone was emotionally drained and not in a good mood. But when Nadezhda Alexandrovna came [Белова]everyone has a lot of motivation that we can do better, so for this season everyone is positive with a fighting spirit.”
Let us remind you that today the premiere race of the first stage of the season took place. Tishchenko represented Ukraine in single mixed doubles with Elena Gorodnaya. Artem spent one additional cartridge in four firing lines, but at the same time did not show the best pure time on the track. As a result, the Ukrainian duo took 9th place, losing 1:23.4 to the winners of the first race of the season, the Swedish team.
Today there is also a mixed relay race. Ukraine is represented in it by Anton Dudchenko, Vitaly Mandzyn, Kristina Dmitrenko and Yulia Dzhima.
Also in Kontiolahti there will be a classic relay race, a short individual race, a sprint and a mass start. The stage will end on December 8.
