The men’s race starts tomorrow at 14:45, the women’s at 18:25
The compositions became known Ukrainian national teams on classic relay raceswhich will take place tomorrow, December 1, at the first stage Biathlon World Cup 2024/25 in Finnish Kontiolahti.
The men’s race, which starts at 14:45 Kyiv time, will be held by Ukraine as part of: Bogdan Tsymbal — Dmitry Pidruchny — Anton Dudchenko — Vitaly Mandzyn.
Let us note the presence of the leader of the Ukrainian team, Dmitry Pidruchny, as it became known earlier that he was not included in the mixed relay team due to health reasons. Tsymbal, who will be the first to start, will run his first relay since the 2023 World Championships.
In the women’s relay (start at 18:25) the Ukrainian team will be represented by: Elena Gorodnaya — Kristina Dmitrenko — Alexandra Merkushina — Julia Jima.
For Merkushina Jr., this relay will be her career debut at the World Cup level.
Let us remind you that today the 2024/25 KM stage in Kontiolahti started with two mixed races. In the single mixed doubles, Tishchenko and Gorodnaya took ninth place; in the mixed race, Ukraine (Dudchenko, Mandzyn, Dmitrenko, Dzhima) finished sixth.
The Kontiolahti stage will end on December 8. In addition to mixed relays, it will also feature men’s and women’s short individual races, as well as sprints and mass starts.
