Swedish team became the winner of the women’s relay at the first stage of the Biathlon World Cup in Kontiolahti, Finland.
The Swedish team, which included Anna Magnusson, Sarah Andersson, Hannah and Elvira Oeberg, posted a result of 1 hour 17 minutes 9 seconds. The biathletes completed six additional laps and a penalty loop.
The French team took second place. Lou Jeanmonot, Justine Brézat-Boucher, Sophie Chauveau and Julia Simon lost 29 seconds to the winners (1 penalty loop; 9 additional laps).
The Norwegian team was third, represented by Juni Arnekleive, Caroline Knotten, Maren Kirkade and Ingrid Tandrevold (+36.2 seconds; 1 penalty loop; 8 extra laps).
On Tuesday, during the Kontiolahti stage, which will end on December 8, the men’s shortened individual race will take place.
