“Without a doubt, their anti-doping agency was ‘blubbering’ something. Zhurova – about Norway’s possible withdrawal from international tournaments

Violations in the field of doping in Norway have occurred from year to year and have turned into mutual responsibility, says the deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Svetlana Zhurova.

Earlier, Norwegian sports officials expressed concern about possible global sanctions against their athletes and federations due to the legal barrier that does not allow doping tests of young athletes according to the WADA code. Nils Einar Martin Os, general secretary of the Norwegian Sports Confederation (NIF), explained that WADA’s sanctions could include fines, disqualification from major international competitions and even a ban from major tournaments.

– Norway has an anti-doping trail only in the form of guesswork. Everyone guesses that something is wrong here with asthma, therapeutic permits. Undoubtedly, their anti-doping agency was “stammering” something. It seems that there is nothing to investigate. It’s just that 15 to 18 year olds weren’t tested, that was the law they had.

I present a hypothetical situation. The parent of the child sees how the neighbor is not going to dope, because his parents do not allow it. Then a respectable person will think: then I will not drive my child. It was such a mutual responsibility, when we don’t give up – then we won’t, and we don’t care about international laws. It has not become clear today, it has been violated year after year. But since it was allowed, people got used to it. When it reached critical mass, the AMA could no longer ignore it. I do not exclude that just one parent complained, seeing the injustice.

About the punishment. I am not bloodthirsty. I was worried when the collective responsibility was placed on the Russian team. I think this is wrong. There must be personal responsibility: a coach, an official, an athlete. But not the responsibility of the whole team. I wouldn’t want that to happen, because in many sports competitions without Norway won’t be interesting either, just like without Russia, Zhurova told .
