Coach of the Russian women’s team Mikhail Shachilov told that in the intense heat conditions at the PARI Commonwealth Cup in Sochi, every precaution was taken so that the performances were safe for the biathletes.

During the women’s sprint, the temperature reached 46 degrees Celsius. The winner of the summer biathlon race was Dinara Alimbekova from Belarus. The athlete covered the distance in 21 minutes 43.7 seconds, with two misses. The second was the Russian Anastasia Shevchenko – +0.5 (0), third – Irina Kazakevich – +2.3 (2).

– How safe is it for biathletes to perform in such heat?
