The Ukrainian biathlon team has kept its quota for the 2022/23 season, despite losing positions in the Nations Cup standings

Male and female national teams of Ukraine in biathlon have retained quotas to compete under the auspices of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) in the 2022/23 season, IBU Sports and Events Director Daniel Bem said. quoted by the press service of the Ukrainian Biathlon Federation.

Last season, the Ukrainian team had room for five people to participate in the men’s and women’s races. The Ukrainian team lost their position in the Nations Cup standings due to missing the last three stages of the competition in the 2021/22 season and lost the opportunity to register five people for the next Cup of the world.

“At a regular meeting of the IBU executive committee, it was decided that the Ukrainian federation will maintain the same quota for the 2022/23 season as it had last year,” Bem said.

The first stage of the World Cup of the 2022/23 season will take place in Kontiolahti (Finland) from November 29 to December 4.
