The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected the appeal of the Latvian biathlete Andrei Rastorguev according to the Biathlon Integrity Unit.
The CAS Appeals Chamber said there was no argument or evidence to justify reducing the 18-month period of ineligibility.
Previously, Rastorguev had failed to provide anti-doping officers with information about his whereabouts three times in 12 months. The disqualification period will be 18 months and will be counted from March 11, 2021.
It should also be noted that Rastorguev’s gold medal won at the European Championships in 2021 will be cancelled. The biathlete is the owner of three gold, one silver and two bronze medals of the European Championships.
