Two-time biathlon world champion Franziska Hildebrand announced his retirement at the age of 35.
I will be a mom early next year. I’m glad that’s why my time in the sport is coming to an end. I have had wonderful and exciting years in biathlon and I am grateful for the experience and adventure of so many years. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me throughout my career,” said Hildebrand, quoted by the press service of the German Biathlon Federation.
Hildebrand won World Championship gold medals in the women’s relay, she also won World Championship silver and bronze. The biathlete has two personal victories in the World Cup.
