Biathlete Kazakevich: “There were talks that either I would die at the Wart training camp, or I would endure and run very fast”

Olympic silver medal biathlete Irina Kazakevich spoke about communication with skiers during the preparatory camp in a team led by the honored coach of Russia Yuri Borodavko .

Kazakevich in July organized a training camp in a group of Borodavko skiers in Malinovka (Arkhangelsk region). Kazakevich in the biathlon team is trained by Mikhail Shashilov.

– The skiers of the Borodavko group are all simple and cheerful! At the warm-up crosses, I managed to tell them something about biathlon, I learned from them the specifics of skiing. There was a lot to say. In principle, I did not care to be alone during the gathering, because I am a sociable person and easily get along with everyone. After all, I knew them well, however, there was no close communication before.

The girls are very cool! I will say that skiers are even simpler than biathletes – no offense. They made fun of me a bit (laughs). When I arrived, most of the talk was that I would either die in training camp or I’d put up with it all and run really fast. In general, I believe that I did not pass this training camp in vain, – Kazakevich quotes the words “Championship”.

Olympic champions Alexander Bolshunov, Denis Spitsov, Alexei Chervotkin, Yulia Stupak and Natalya Nepryaeva are part of the Borodavko group.
