Virolainen missed four shots from four ranges, 3m 3.0s behind the winner Heidi Kuuttinen (1 miss). Completed the first three Venla Lehtonen (5 misses, +4.01.6).
On Saturday in the 7.5km sprint race, Virolainen finished fourth, losing 2 minutes 5.3 seconds to Anastasia Kinnunen, who has previously competed for Belarus. Both athletes had three misses. Kuuttinen (2 misses, +1.06.4) came second, Lehtonen (+1.57.7) came third.
Virolainen, 33, is the daughter of three-time Olympic champion Anfisa Reztsova. In 2007, the athlete married Belarusian skier Roman Virolainen and missed last season due to pregnancy. Virolainen won gold at the 2017 European Championships in single mixed doubles, was twice on the World Cup podium.
