Loginov said he would miss the Russian summer biathlon championship in Tchaikovsky

Olympic medalist in biathlon Alexander Loginov spoke about his condition after the illness and also said that he will miss the Russian summer biathlon championship.

Earlier, Russian national team coach Sergei Bashkirov told that Loginov, for health reasons, will not take part in the Commonwealth Cup stage races at Belarusian Raubichi. Despite exiting the competition, Loginov is in Raubichi, where he takes part in training on Wednesday.

– Yes, I will not play here, but it was planned, because I have just started the entire training process. Therefore, we can no longer speak of development work, let alone some kind of competitive practice.

I do volume, hard work. I’m getting back to normal, and most importantly, so my health doesn’t get worse again. Now I can probably say that I am completely healthy, but only two weeks have passed since I was bedridden for a week with a fever and a strong cough. The virus destroyed me a lot, but now I’m much better,” Loginov said in an interview with the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) press service.

The athlete is sure that he will not participate in the Russian Summer Biathlon Championship in Chaikovsky, which will be held from September 24 to 27.

– There is no time or opportunity to approach Tchaikovsky on purpose. We must calmly prepare for the winter season and not force things,” Loginov added.

Previously, the biathlete missed the Commonwealth Cup stage in Sochi due to illness.
