Biathlete Russian team Maxim Tsvetkov told that he does not believe in admitting Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions in the new season.
The International Biathlon Union (IBU) Congress in Salzburg, Austria will take place September 15-18. He will consider the issue of the participation of biathletes of the national teams of Russia and Belarus in the 2022/23 World Cup.
“I haven’t really thought about it and I didn’t know it, but it seems to me that this (tolerance) is unlikely. I don’t expect anything. What do you think of the season that will take place in Russia? We have to prepare as well as we prepared before. Try to find another motivation without thinking that these are not international competitions,” Tsvetkov told .
In early March, the IBU suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in competitions under the auspices of the organization. Later, the IBU suspended the membership of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) and the Belarusian Biathlon Federation (BFB).
