Belarusian biathlete Anton Smolsky won gold in the 10 km sprint race at the second stage of the Commonwealth Cup, which takes place at the Raubichi complex in Belarus.
Smolsky dodged misses on two shooting lines and showed the result in 23 minutes 12.7 seconds. Second and third places were taken by Russians Kirill Bazhin (0 miss, 1.5 seconds behind) and Olympic medalist Eduard Latypov (1 miss, +8.9).
Biathletes from Russia and Belarus are currently not allowed to compete under the auspices of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) due to the situation in Ukraine.
