Member of the Athletes’ Commission of the Russian Olympic Committee Lada Zadonskaya she said that in the executive committee of the Russian Skating Union she would be the link between the organization’s leadership and the athletes themselves.
Zadonskaya was elected to the new executive committee at an extraordinary congress of the organization.
— How do you see your role within the executive committee?
– Based on my experience in the Athletes’ Commission of the Russian Olympic Committee, I can say that we are a bridge between the athletes and the management, because sometimes the management does not see what is happening inside the training process. We try to convey all these questions to the management, and I would like them to listen to our advice and our wishes,” Zadonskaya told .
– While your congress was taking place, we learned the amount of the prize money for the skaters. How do you comment? It is clear after all that the skaters will not have such prize money.
“Even if our prize money is four times less, it’s not bad. We are well aware that in this respect we are far from figure skating. Our maximum prize money was 15 thousand. Therefore, the prize money is above 100 and 200 thousand – this will already be tangible support, especially for young athletes.
On Monday, the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) announced the amount of prizes in Russian tournaments: athletes will receive 2.5 million rubles for gold in the national championship, 1 million for winning the Grand Prix final. The total price will be more than 100 million rubles.
