russian biathlete Evgenia Burtasova told that she would like to end her sporting career after the 2026 Olympics in Italy.
On Saturday, 29-year-old Burtasova took 10th place in the sprint at the Russian Championships from Tchaikovsky. These competitions were the first for her since her participation in the Olympics in February.
How many more years would you like to be engaged in biathlon?
– If there is no result, then why suffer? I don’t want to suffer, if so, then it’s easier for me to go to the family. As long as there is a result, I would like to run until the next Olympics. Until 2026 and that’s it. I will go further. But the age of an athlete is short, so, God forbid, and runs until 2026 (laughs). My family and I support each other, so everything is fine,” Burtasova told .
Is it all after 2026?
“It’s like that in my head, but I won’t say big words. I want children too. I don’t just want to give it to my grandmother when I’m competing myself: I want to give birth for me, not for my mothers. I want to be a happy mother.
