Vasiliev said that St. Petersburg biathletes did not receive a summons

Double Olympic champion, president of the St. Petersburg Biathlon Federation Dmitry Vasiliev told that biathletes from St. Petersburg did not receive a summons to the selection committee.

commentator Dmitry Guberniev said on Wednesday that several Russian biathletes at national team level had received subpoenas. Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization in the country.

– Yes, I know from reliable sources there was such a thing: some received (summons). I can’t say exactly by name, but there were such cases. It really is.

I approach all of this with some trepidation. It happens that the military commissars, in search of fulfillment, take everyone indiscriminately: young boys and the same athletes. But at the same time, for example, some of my acquaintances recently retired due to seniority, and someone terminated their contract. And nobody even offered them, but they wouldn’t even mind being called. How is it possible?

They take green boys who have nothing to do with military affairs. Therefore, here it is necessary to deal with the military commissars, to consider each individual case. But that doesn’t mean that everyone, without exception, has to make a reservation, Vasilyev told .

– Have you received invitations for biathletes from your region?

– No, they haven’t come to St. Petersburg yet.

– Do you think biathletes are needed for a special operation?

– Biathletes are always in demand in this part. It is a known fact. It is therefore a question of opportunity. Is the situation so serious now that the elite should be sent there, as they say? I don’t know, I’m no expert – it’s hard for me to judge. These experts should explain. But at the same time, you have to approach it differently.
