Britain's Denzel Bentley was recently confirmed as the new World Boxing Organization champion after Janibek Alimkhanuly relinquished the belt, and the Londoner could be targeted by McKenna to unify titles.
Elsewhere in the division, Carlos Adames retained the World Boxing Council middleweight belt with a unanimous decision victory over Austin Williams in March. World Boxing Association champion Erislandy Lara has not fought since defending his title with a points win over Johan Gonzalez last December.
