Wilder: Our fight with Joshua is still a huge fight that the fans are very interested in

Former heavyweight champions could face off against each other

Former World Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder hopes he can fight another ex-division champion Anthony Joshua.

“We all compete in the heavyweight division. People often ask me a question about Joshua and many other guys. But by far the most frequently asked questions are about me and Joshua. It’s still a huge fight that the fans are very interested in.”

“I am always in high spirits at such moments. We’re in the heavyweight division. If everything goes according to plan, if we continue to fight with him, then we must face each other. I have been trying to do this for many years, but have not been successful. However, now is a different time.”

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury insists he pulled out of Joshua fight. At the same time, Frank Warren, Fury’s promoter, said he still hopes to fight Tyson with Joshua.

In August, Joshua lost by split decision to Ukrainian boxer, WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Recall that the Ukrainian said that Wilder could become his next opponent. The fight could take place in the US. Usyk plans to watch the fight between Wilder and Robert Helenius on October 15 in Brooklyn.
