The WBC world champion issued an ultimatum on Saturday
WBC World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury announced that he would not fight the former champion Anthony Joshua. According to the “Gypsy King”, the time for signing a contract for the fight with Anthony came out at 17 o’clock London time.
Previously, Fury gave an ultimatum to Joshua to sign a contract by Monday, September 26. Tyson said that the negotiations were too long and he did not want Anthony to dictate his terms to him.
Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn said there was no chance of signing an agreement in such a short time. According to Hearn, in this way Fury decided to avoid a fight.
Joshua, in turn, agreed to sign the contract. The boxer stated that it remained to agree on the legal nuances of the fight.
Fury twice reached out to Joshua via social media and offered him a fight. Anthony accepted Fury’s offer. Boxers are considering three dates for the fight – November 26, December 3 and December 17. Joshua also agrees to a 60/40 distribution of the fee to the reigning world champion.
In August, Joshua lost by split decision to Ukrainian boxer, WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.
Fury defeated Dillian Whyte ahead of schedule in April of this year, after which he announced his retirement twice. At the same time, Tyson has not yet vacated the WBC championship belt.
‼️ Tyson Fury has now declared that he will NOT be fighting Anthony Joshua next because AJ has not signed the contract today…
