Boxers Saul Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin passed the latest VADA doping tests after their recent third head-to-head fight. The VADA program requires boxers to undergo random testing for the use of banned substances before and after the fight.
The Mexican beat Golovkin by decision last month. In their first fight, a draw was recorded, and in the second, Alvarez won.
“Congratulations to Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin for the successful retest,” VADA said in a social media post.
Alvarez failed two drug tests just three days apart in 2018 before their possible rematch. Later, the Mexican boxer claimed that the banned substances entered his body by accident with the use of meat.
