The American will have a rematch with Kambosos on the night of October 16 in Melbourne
Undisputed World Lightweight Champion Devin Haney arrived in Melbourne rematch with former title holder George Kambosos and commented on the upcoming fight.
“George is a living person. He had belts, he tasted the championship. Now that he’s lost them, it’s obvious he wants them back. I cannot take this lightly. I know he will have a different fight plan and he will be hungrier than last time.”
“I am not surprised that he is silent before this fight. He had to be silent for the first time. I was very professional and he lost his temper and it backfired on him. It is clear that he will behave differently. A lot of the things he did wrong the first time, he will try to fix.”
“Even a blind man could see that the plan he had for the first fight didn’t work. He’s going to try something else. Obviously, he will try to be more aggressive. Well, we planned everything well. This time we will do the same. We will take advantage of the mistakes he made in the first fight and in previous fights.”
Haney will have a rematch with Kambosos on the night of October 16th at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia.
Recall that in the duel for the title of absolute world champion Haney defeated Kambosos by unanimous decision of the judges – 116:112, 116:112 and 118:110. After that, George activated the option of a rematch with the American.
