Athletistic/ MMA. Former UFC middleweight champion, Australian mixed-style fighter Robert Whittaker has revealed who he considers the favorite in the showdown between Russian Islam Makhachev and Brazilian Charles Oliveira.
“If I bet, I chose Makhachev. Oliveira can be transferred to the ground, he believes in his jiu-jitsu skills, he is ready to fight on his back. He is also good on his feet, connects his knees and his elbows, and his punches can stop an opponent. But it’s obvious that Makhachev’s wrestling and grappling are at the highest level,” Whittaker quoted in an interview with journalist James Lynch “Sport-Express”.
The UFC lightweight title fight between Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev will take place on October 22 at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
During his professional career in mixed martial arts, Islam Makhachev won 22 times and lost 1 time. Because of Charles Oliveira – 33 wins, 8 losses and 1 fight, recognized as not having taken place.
