The former world heavyweight champion admitted that he wants to retire soon.
Deontay Wilder is considering retirement. According to the former world heavyweight champion, he plans to enter the ring for a maximum of three years, after which he will finally hang his gloves on a nail.
The 36-year-old American plans to perform nine matches in the allotted time.
“I think I will fight for three more years, which is probably nine fights. Or six. Who knows? There is a lot of information about me in the media, and a lot of it is not true. They want to be first instead of being honest.
I decided to take a break and then let everyone know, and you will hear it from my lips – I am ready to spend another three years here. You must understand that three years is a short time. And they’re going to go fast, so I want people to enjoy them,” Wilder said as quoted by The Ring.
It will be remembered that on October 16 in New York, Wilder will meet Finn Robert Helenius.
Earlier, Deontey said he would be willing to accept a challenge from Oleksandr Usyk, should one come in the future.
