Hearn: Fury’s fight with Charr is a complete inconsistency, why doesn’t he want to fight Joyce?

Promoter surprised by choice of opponent for WBC champ

Promoter Eddie Hearn expressed surprise at how the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Furand chose an opponent for the next fight. Hearn thinks Germany’s Manuel Charr is too far off Fury’s level.

“Tyson calls him to the fight like he’s a credible heavyweight. This guy doesn’t even have a rating. It’s a chronic mismatch, and if he doesn’t want to fight AJ, why shouldn’t he fight Joe Joyce? Joe is ready and they have the same promotional company.”

Recall that Fury turned to Joshua with a proposal to complete negotiations on a joint fight in the near future. The boxer stated that his promoter Frank Warren convinced him to continue preparing for the fight.

Fury has previously stated that he no longer intends to fight Joshua, as the time for reflection for Anthony is up. Tyson gave an ultimatum to Joshua to sign a contract by Monday, September 26th. Fury said that the negotiations were too long and he did not want Anthony to dictate his terms to him.

Also, Frank Warren said that Tyson was disappointed with the situation around the fight against Joshua and switched to a fight with Manuel Charr.

In the future, Fury is aiming to fight with the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk. It is expected that the fight for the unification of the heavyweight titles can be organized in February-March 2023.
